Lignum Sconce opal glassThe Lignum Sconce is cast from brass in an organic inverted heart form inspired by black walnut. The design process begins with a black walnut blank cut to shape, sandblasted to raise the grain, then used to produce the casting mold. The main body is approximately one quarter inch thick cast brass. Machined brass components and formed sheet brass complete the assembly. The vertical slit at the center allows inset LEDs to cast a fan pattern of light
