La Schlup e Co. fu fondata nel 1917 da tre fratelli, Fritz, Ernst e Werner Schlup, a Lengnau e visse fino al 1948. Luthi arriv alla Schlup e Co. nel 1947 allet di 28 anni e scal in fretta i vertici aziendali, grazie anche al fatto che spos una delle sorelle Schlup. Nasce la Rado Prese gradualmente il controllo
