Lounge Chairs, c1940s Ole WanscherA pair of classical and compact armchairs attributed to Danish master cabinetmaker Jacob Kjaer. This pair was produced in the 1940s at Kjaer's workshop in Copenhagen. The frames and legs are constructed from solid beech wood and the seats are hand sprung. Kjaer was a rare figure in Copenhagen furniture community in that he both designed and executed his own pieces. He was a driving force in the formation and continuing success of the Cabinetmaker's
