Winter Juncos in Sunshine Size:6 x 14 inch giclée print; gallery wrap on canvasDark eyed Juncos are among the most common winter visitors in Colorado and many of the Lower 48 states. Although all belong to a single species and intermix on the wintering grounds, juncos disperse in spring to nesting areas in several distinct areas. This breeding separation has led to the development of several different races or subspecies. Only one junco type remains in Colorado during summer. I painted this image mainly to help myself memorize
